Askal was being read from the outside as something it wasn't.

The elevated aesthetic and Asian fine-dining positioning created a perception of formality and rigidity. Inside? Chef John is cracking jokes, reimagining his mum's recipes, and genuinely excited to try new things.

THE RECIPE

Rather than letting the food speak for itself (it already does, loudly), we built a content strategy around the stories behind the dishes. Not just ingredients and technique. Content that felt less like a restaurant marketing itself and more like someone inviting you over for dinner. A preview of exactly what you’ll be walking into.
